Benyovszky Chapel – Tengelic

Count Rezső Benyovszky had a chapel built in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1913–1914. Rezső and his tragically deceased son, Emmanuel, are also buried here.

Petőfi Memorial Apiary – Kölesd-Borjád

In the summer of 1845, Sándor Petőfi visited Borjád as a guest of his former elementary school friend, István Sass. The Apiary commemorates his stay in Borjád, during which he wrote several poems within its walls, such as The Hungarian Nobleman and The Four-Ox Cart. A small museum and a park surround the Sass Mansion. Visits are possible by prior arrangement.

Wine Cellar Village – Györköny

An exploration of Swabian culture and wines, surrounded by more than 400 wine cellars. Open to visitors all year round.

Szekszárd

The county seat of Tolna County, famous as the birthplace of Mihály Babits, as well as for its rolling hills and wines. Sights include: Babits Mihály Memorial House, Béla Király Square and the pedestrian street, Wosinsky Mór Museum.

A beautiful Serbian Orthodox monastery with icons and friendly monks. If the church is closed, it is worth knocking at the monastery to ask for the key.

Mecsek Hiking Tour – Óbánya

A famously beautiful Swabian village at the foot of the Mecsek Mountains and a starting point for several hiking trails.

Pipo of Ozora Castle – Ozora

A Renaissance-style castle built by Pipó of Ozora in the early 15th century. Today it operates as a museum, recreating the atmosphere of the period.

Festetics Castle – Dég

The Festetics Castle in Dég is Hungary’s only visitable classical-style castle. It is surrounded by the largest English landscape garden in the country.

Wine Cellar Village – Hajós

This picturesque small town in Bács-Kiskun County lies within the Kiskunság National Park. The cellar village consists of 24 winding streets and 1,250 wine cellars, where many wineries welcome visitors eager to taste local wines.

Kalocsa

Beyond its world-famous paprika, Kalocsa is one of the most important centers of the Hungarian Catholic Church. The monumental Baroque Cathedral of the thousand-year-old Archdiocese of Kalocsa and the adjacent Baroque Archbishop’s Palace, together with the charming Trinity Square, create an impressively unified atmosphere.
